Can the poplar wood trim be replaced?

I scratched the wood trim on the grab handle on the passenger side.

I asked auto body shop to order only the trim, but dealer quoted a new door.

I don?t want to purchase a new door!!

If anybody has any ideas and can supply a part number or description so that I might purchase it from the dealer, I?d very much appreciate it.

Huh? A bit of decency wouldn't be malplaced: either they admit they haven't the faintest idea of what they are talking about or they offer you to replace the trim on the passenger side alone. It can be done.

I think the part no is 51416983776 (for an LCI car.)

The wood trim has a layer of clear coat paint. Scratches can be polished out just like any painted surface unless you mean the scratch is deep and into the wood.

Unfortunately, the scratch is deep into the wood.

Body shop couldn't fill, so replacement is only option.

I asked him if he could fill it with something and then buff it, but he said no.

Wood trim on grab handle can be replaced Part number: 51-41-6-959-334 (Poplar, braun) about $91 at Tischer BMW (CA, USA). Front right

LCI cars have leather grab handles if not mistaken.

Lets try selling him a new door, maybe he will go for it

You really want to use a body shop that so obviously tried to rob you?? - I would not

But as already posted, buy the handle yourself. Its not that tricky and you can find hints in guides in the DIY sections.
