Yup, must be from the Texas heat. Over 100 every day for the past month. I'll wrap them up in electrical tape when I get the time. Any pics of your hid ae's?

I had GP8500 on my 08 550i..but after 2 weeks I felt it is much dimmer then the oem halogen. The GP8500 look great when it's dim outside but in the hot summer sun it doesn't look that bright. I might put the GP8500 back on in the winter time.

So I decided to give the GP Thunder H8 a try before I went the HID LED route. The cost was $20 with shipping. Installation was straight forward, however it took me a full ten minutes because my hands are big for the tight quarters. So far I am please with the look, not super bright in the direct sunlight, but it's suffice. In the afternoon, and the night they look amazing. So far no error codes, which was my biggest concern.

Thanks to dantheman1 for the insight he provided.

dantheman1, so far I really like the look. You should try 8500's. With my HID 8000s fogs on and the angel eyes, I no longer use the low beams.

After seeing those pics of the LUX, i'm glad I didn't purchase them. The GP thunder definitely looks brighter/better. Thanks to the people on the board for the advice. Soulcontroller, I'd go with the 8500k bulbs mentioned in this thread rather than an LED option. While it's true they might last longer, the bulbs are $20 and look to be brighter.
