Hello everyone, I need to replace the engine in my car which is a 2006 550i w/ 101,000 miles on it. Weighing the cost to fix sever valve train problems vs. buying a used low mileage engine it looks like the engine swap is best option. My car is a manual 6 spd I just had new clutch hardware installed and it cost me $3,000 I don't want to dump the car. Can I install an engine that came out of a car w/ auto trans into my car? If so would it be a complicated situation for the DIY mechanic or would it just be a matter of attaching the clutch hardware to the new/used engine removing torque converter etc.?
