So I have a 6 speed 2007 550i and my driveshaft cv joint needs replacing. I can not find a cv joint for a manual transmission anywhere not even from bmw. From what I've researched the only difference I can see is the end of the joint that mates with differential is larger on the manual trans vs the auto. So my question is if I can just use that end cap from my old part on the new (automatic) part and theoretically have a functioning replacement? Or is my only option buying a whole new drive shaft/ buying an auto shaft and making a hybrid shaft + auto differential?
