Guys, I came here for the advice and I got a lot of feedback which I really appreciate. I hope my comment about 528 vs g35 didn't hurt anyones feeling. I am here to stay and will have many more questions to come. My wife liked both cars btw.

LOL, didn't hurt my feelings at all. I used to have a G35 with the sports pack (loved the Brembos) and a 6 spd manual - I didn't get it for status (it was a new model that year - 2003), more than anything I loved the pop-up NAV screen. That was one of more than a few times I almost bought a 5 series and ended up with something else instead. Still, I LOVE my 5er and wouldn't replace it with anything else anymore.

I certainly wasnt offended - your spot is a tough one to be in - there is such a huge range of vehicles to get in your price range (especially used) no one can blame you for having some difficulty picking.

Doubt you are going with a manual calculation. Don't trust the computer.

Aint no way a 550i gets the same as a 535i. I get 20.5 overall with my 535i and when cruising based on manual calculation, get 29mpg hwy avg. of 70 mph. Sorry, just got to see that to believe that. No offense.

I have the 3M clear plastic bra and I live in the Washington DC area where alot of crap is kicked up all the time. Since I have a M-tec bumper, it was painted and so the bra helps alot more considering that the paint was not baked on. A must if you ask me. I do not have one single chip in the bumper, so for me, its worth it.

+1 ABSOLUTELY CORRECT! Exactly what I just typed a few mins. ago. If everyone did it, they will see that they get worse mpg than the computer indication. FACT! not fiction folks!

My wife and I flied in on Saturday to LA and picked up 09 550i in carbon black metallic. My wife is a happy camper and so am I. We drove it home and made a stop at my cousin on the way back. Great car, but I noticed the wear on the front left tire (the outside weared out). It doesn't have typical allignment problem symptom (doesn't pull to left or right). I will take it to a shop this week.
Not it's time to wash it and clean from all the bugs (which I partially did last night when we got home).

I need to buy one of those. Did you install it yourself? If so was it hard to do?

The only thing I noticed about those ( in some cars ) is that over time it turns sort of yellowish and kind if changes the color of the car. Maybe it depends on the brand. No?

Oh I forgot to mention according to onboard computer I averaged at 25 to 25.2mpg with mostly freeway driving 65-80 mpg. I didn't do manual calculation.
