My Ride: 2008 550i SA M-Sport Package
You guys can believe what you want, a 550i will lose vs the SRT8 (I own a 550i, my boy drives the 300C SRT8), Like I said the e39 M5 will bring you just about even and the e60 M5 will give you the needed edge. I love BMW, but I'm a realist. 550i is a nice car, but it's not in the SRT, ///M or AMG class. Almost, but not quite.
Now, who will win a race from 0 to UGLY? 300C SRT8 hands down!

I am not disagreeing with you, my last car was an SRT-8 Jeep and with mods I was over 520hp and 550lb/ft so even with the heft of the Grand Cherokee a 550 would have trouble keeping up. The 300C can be faster that the 550 easily............in a straight line, throw a few curves in there and that solid axle rearend in the SRT becomes a huge liability.

I have a 550 as well and raced a hemi 5.7 charger r/t from 0-80 and i was about 3-4 cars in front and kept pulling away from that point.. I think it would be a close call, with the srt8 having a slightly advantage but since you have an exhaust and scoop i think it will be much closer

I agree - 300C SRT8 would would probably beat a 550i but it's not visually appealing in my opinion. For those that think our 550's may win - I would look up "anchoring and adjustment" and "confirmation" biases... JK
. Despite the numbers to prove that our cars should be slower our familiarity with them probably clouds our judgment a bit... just a thought...
