If you put a 550i with RPI Exhaust & Scoops up against a stock 300C SRT8, who would you say would have the edge from:
0-100
60-120
80-140?
0-100
60-120
80-140?

I'm sorry, I'd give the SRT8 the edge all the way. I love BMW but I'm a realist, e39 M5, then you have a race. e60 M5, e60 wins, e60 550i, stay home.

I'd go with the SRT-8 in the 0-60, but the 550i with the other two. The 300c SRT-8s that I have seen are quick for their size but in general 5s are slow off the line then pick up and go hard. SRT-8 holds the advantage, but I personally believe BMW is like a "2nd half team" Very interesting matchup with two beastlike cars.

Are you talking about a stock E39 M5? Because the HP there is 394HP. A 550i has 360 stock, add an RPi exhaust which claims a 25 HP boost and you're at 385. RPi also claims 6-7 RWHP on the scoop, so one could say that would give the 550 close to 395BPH, or 290HP at the wheels. Wouldn't this place the 550 evenly with the E39 M5? Of course there's a weight difference, but the 300C SRT8 is also heavier than a 550.

Let's look at the numbers:
SRT has 425HP and 420lb/ft of torque
550 has 360HP and 361Lb/ft of torque
Despite what Diamond thinks, torque is very beneficial when going from say 60-120. Either way the SRT has the edge in the power #'s but it does weigh 4160lbs, which is more than 200lbs heavier than the 550 (3902lbs).

Of course the scoop's not going to make a difference from 0-60, but from 60 and up you've got a good amount of airflow being sucked into that scoop that normally wouldn't be there without it.

I've been to the RPI warehouse in Torrance, CA. They have the dyno graphs to prove the HP gains. Numbers talk - not just guessing here.
