What are the differences between 2008, 2009 and 2010 models of 550i? I know i-drive was changed and extra buttons were added. What else is different?

How much does it cost to add iPod adapter if it wasn't factory installed?

About $350 - $400 for the kit brand new unless you find a used one for sale. Labor is extra. For a little more you can get a Denison GW 500 which has more features.

2009 got the newer CIC controller but still used the carry-over CCC computer. In September 2008 for 2009 model years, the 1, 3, and 7 series received the newer CIC computer with updated controller, display, and hard-drive based navigation. A year later, the 5 and 6 series finally got the CIC system for 2010 model years.

I believe those were the only major changes between 2008-2010.

Thank you guys for the replies. I don't know what cic is butI will look into it. What is the advantage of HDD based .navigation.speed? I think it would be easier to purchase or download the DVD with maps rather than flashing upgrades at dealership.

CCC is the older iDrive system. CIC is the current iDrive on all BMWs.
