Wow, some shockers there. $1000 for Comfort access? No more manual trans? Active steering broken out from Sports Package like the other US '06 models. Wow. I had a feeling they wouldn't f--k the current '06 owners too badly by adding a bunch of stuff to the Sept. cars in the US. Looks like I might be right considering the lack of other changes and options availability?

Nice! Thanks to the removal of the AS from the sport pack my MSRP will be $95 less than the 545i would of been. Now WTF is up with delays on the manual tranny. I hope that means that the 4.8 litre engine is just too damn powerful for the current manual.

Thanks for the info!

It not unusual for the manual box to be delayed in the beginning on the V8 engines

Where is SMG, huh? We need a better SMG. Like the one in M3.

So what's the vicious rumour that the 550i will have exhausts (twin/dual) on both sides?

Maybe i'll wait for other goodies to come out and get a late model year 2006 (3/2006 production) or a 2007 550i (9/2006 production)?

Do good things really come to those who wait?

I'm told that US BMW dealers will get their September alotment figures on July 26 and orders need to be in by July 28. Delivery for a September build would be, what, four to six weeks later? So the first 550s will arrive here sometime in Oct.
