My Ride: 545iSMGSilver GrayAuburn Dakota LeatherLogic 7 Premium SoundSports Package
I've left the 545 for 3 weeks while out of the country with it locked and armed and it started fine... longest the M5 has been left was about 2.5 weeks while on vacation and it start fine too. The Porsche actually sounded really week while sitting for the same amount of time... but still was able to start up.

Although I don't think I've gone a full 4 weeks, I have gone between 2 and 3 and never had any issue. This behavior is, in my opinon, expected.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, the "unfavorable driving profile" excuse is just that...an excuse. If the car sleeps properly, there's no reason it can't sit for weeks and still start right up. The people who are being told to get a battery tender are people with a car that has a sleep problem and a dealer that isn't capable of figuring out the problem...

Hey Rudy, can I quote you on that and take it to my dealer. Thats exactly the "excuse" I have been told on 3 different occasions. Now when the car sits in a heated garage, i have to have the damn battery tender plugged in or I will lose time and date in about 5 days. The car has been to the dealer at least 3 different times and each time I was told that it was my fault because I do not drive the car hard enough.

My Ride: 2006 525XI, Jet black on Dakota beige. Premium and winter packages. I consider myself a purist and intend to keep my car absolutely stock and shiny.
2008 328I Convertible, Sapphire black on beige interior. Premium package, NAV, iPod adapter.
Retired: 2002 325I, Titanium silver on black leather. Premium package. Absolutely stock and proud of it.
It's always refreshing to hear a positive story. Why, just this morning I started my car, drove to work, parked, and I had absolutely no mechanical or electrical issues whatsoever. Felt pretty good about that.... I get that feeling just about every day.
