550 - 2 days - 3 BAD things - is it safe to drive?
3000 wonderful miles with nary a scratch on my baby. The last 2 days have reaked havoc on my 550 - wht the M Aero Kit. It was all self-inflicted so I have no one to blame but myself. Here's what happened.
Sunday - driving out of the bank drive thru - cut to the right to soon and curbed the wheel (see picture).

Monday morning - pull into work just a tad past the parking block (I know, bad idea!). No scratchin however. When I pull out of the spot later that afternoon, part of the bumper catchs on the rebar sticking out from the parking block and all hell breaks loose. See pics - both air ducts pop out, the bottom is scratched up and the right side (when sitting in the car) separates. I push as much back into place but there are plastic "buttons" that popped out that need to be tied back down. I drove the care over 100mph today and no rattling but I'm still concerned about it. I'm driving about 300 miles this weekend - is it safe to drive?
Notice the missing air ducts?

Here's what the ducts look like:

Bottom of car:

Side:

Monday night - I'm unloading a portable A/C unit from my car and don't quite get over the lip of the trunk - scratch!

Oh well - I guess my car is officially broken in now.
I'm headed to the dealer on Thursday to inspect the bumper to get an estimate on "re-sealing" the plastic buttons/nails, etc..

Really sorry to read and see this, adamrogers.
Luckily nothing worse...
Maybe a bit more careful after a small damage repair...
I did also back into some wood platforms yesterday but
luckily it did only hit the muffler (under the pipes), and not so bad.
Didn't the PDC warn you?

Was your front warning sensors going off prior to the incident? I have to remember not to pull in too far. I am used to driving a 4 runner which is way above all that crap and I think it will be a matter of time b4 I do what you did.

We have all been there. When I had my GS430, I put a shopping cart next to it and while loading the car, it rolled and put a HUGE ding in the fender. 100% self inflicted. I think those hurt more than anything else.
But as a friend of mine said once "It is just a car, get it fixed and go on with your life". All I heard was the "get it fixed part" but still

I feel you pain! I have curbed 4 wheels and somehow a dent appeared in the side door all in the last month. The two wheels with curb rash remaining are being fixed as I type in the lot of my veterinary hospital. I need to put "the rim guy" on a monthly retainer.
Need to park away from curbs of any kind. I need to pay attention to what I am doing!
