I am looking for four snows and found some used Blizzak 225/55/17s at a good price. Will they be too tall for the car?

Thanks.

I think they would. I'm running on 225/50/17, which is the correct size. The diameter of 225/55/17 is 26,8" (680mm) when 225/50/17 is 25,9" (658mm), and that's 3,3% taller then.

Calculated it in here: Wheelsmaster

Thanks. I did the calculation too and thought they might be too tall. I think you've confirmed it. Thanks again.

I'm pretty sure I got this link from this excellent site in the past and hope it's okay to post. The calculator should give you some additional info.
