Time for a new Upper Timing Case Cover gasket. Had the same leak me and some a couple of other people that chimed in on my thread thought it was the oil pressure switch sensor but it was mine also showed a lot more oil. UTCC is a pretty common leak tho from what I understand. I'm sure someone else will give there opinion.

While you've got the engine apart for TCCG do the Valve Cover gaskets at the same time. You can usually save a bit of labor that way, and it has to be done anyhow.

I'd also take a look at the alternator bracket gasket -- which is the only known to fail gasket on the BMW that is under a higher level of pressure than the VCG and TCCG. It spews oil like the Deepwater Horizon. (too soon?)

Thanks for your response, just playing around with it now, when I remove the oil cap the engine stalls everytime? I highly doubt this should happen?

It means it is working like it is supposed to . By doing that you just introduced a huge air leak into the system .

Normal... this BMW crankcase is always in a state of vacuum when ever possible. It is not ventilated controlled or otherwise.

I'm in the OC if you need help with the upper timing cover gasket.

Get'er done! I had HealthServices help me with mine when mine were leaking. Both timing chain covers, valve covers and while you are there might as well do the new o-rings for the vacuum pump as well. It's not for the faint of heart so take it to someone who's done a whole bunch of these on his, mine and even on E65s.
