I have an 04 545i, today when I went to unlock my car the front doors wouldn't unlock with the button on the key. The rears did. When I got in the car and started it the active steering warning light came on and the steering was very heavy.then the wipers started going all on there own and I couldn't turn them off. Luckily there is tools in the trunk because I had to unhook the battery to get my car back to normal. Now I have a seatbelt and airbag light on the dash. This is the second time this has happened to me and I'm wondering if anything similar has happened to anyone else and if so how they fixed it.
Thanks,
Todd

How old is your battery? How many miles on the car?

I had once problem with driver's door, which did not open. Next day it was ok. I have also problems in meantime with "High rate of battery discharge" message, when car stay in place for longer while. By DIS diagnostic - it points to outside driver door handle (comfort access).

I tend to think that it might be the battery acting up. Especially when you're getting random messages.

A weak battery can cause all kinds of weird problems. First thing to check.

That's what I was thinking to but everything checks out on the volt meter. Batteries are kinda expensive to replace on a hunch. I'll hafta go back and check the date on it when I get a chance.

Go to AutoZone and get it tested for free...

You should also check your alternator, it may be the culprit.
