545i 2005 ''increased emission'', battery red light
BMW 545i 2005 increased emission, battery red light
Hi everyone;
I'm having issues with my BMW 545i 2005 its showing up "increased emission" also, the battery red light showed up today and I bought a new battery cause the car didn't wanted to start this morning I changed it myself and car started normally, but now it keep showing up the same thing. I heard that I have to take the car to the BMW dealer to register the battery, I would like to know if the dealership can only register the battery or any person, car owner can?
Also can someone explain why is showing up "increased emission'' what can I do to fix that cause its also showing up "check engine red light "

When I had to change my battery I did it through a BMW dealer. It costed around $800 in Australia which included programming the new battery to my cars computer. You probably might be able to get it done cheaper through a BMW Specialist, just need the appropriate up to date computer softwares.

Scan the codes. Otherwise it's just guessing what caused the increased emissions light.
You can register the battery if you have a cable & some software (INPA one of them). If the battery has different specs you might want to consider coding it as well (ncsexpert).
