I am sure many of you have read the old comparisons on the E39 530i versus 540i in which two of the negatives of the 540 (or pluses on the 530) were the recirculating ball steering and the extra pounds in the front due to the V8 engine. These articles praised the 530 for perfect balance and being able to toss it around more. I know the rb steering is gone, but I have not seen anything about the extra V8 weight and any penalty it may have on the handling. Assuming this is no longer an issue with active suspension but just wondering if anyone has seen anything in writing about this specific issue. I have a 545 on order.
