I've just recently noticed this... my RPM needle wanders + and - 100 rpms or so in idle and crusing speed. Doesnt matter if the engine is cold or warm I notice the rpms fluctuating.
But the engine is smooth. Its not rough at all. At least not yet. Dont know what to think of it.

The TSB mentions that the valve clearance is variable, but I didn't see anything about adjusting it. Can you provide more info about the adjustment? My build date is Sep 2004 and I don't want the heads messed with, but I wouldn't mind a software adjustment to reduce the valve lash a bit when it's cold.
