has anyone experianced this? I put it into first gear and the min i gas the car it jolts out of first gear and makes a huge pouncing noise. Its happend on several occasions. I took it to the dealer they said nothings wrong with the gear box and that they do not know what the problem is. Has anyone else experiance this

ON A SIDE NOTE: my sunroof was making a very bad noise closing and opening and they fixed that problem so if you do have that problem its a recall make sure you take it in!

Thanks in advance for the feedback!

I know this doesn't help very much. I have not ever had that issue with my transmission. Sorry I can't help, good luck.

This will only happen if the shifter is not fully slotted in 1st. There is a about a CM where it engages but is not fully slotted and it will pop out and invariably scare the sh*t out of you. It sounds and feels like you have just been rear ended. Just be sure to slot the shifter completely. There is nothing wrong with the tranny.

I can see if you don't fully slot 1st. However, that seems hard to do, the engagement into gear is so smooth and positive. I don't know if I push extra hard to make sure I am slotted due to driving inferior manuals in the past, but this has never happened to me.

If you think you have fully slotted first, I would have it checked out.

No problem with "slotting" my 1st gear. Almost sounds like a bad synchro mechanism?

If you are certain that you are fully engaging the shift lever into first gear, and it is popping out, you should take it back to the dealer immediately. Have the service rep RIDE with you to see it happen. I can only assume that your seat is adjusted properly and that you are depressing your clutch pedal fully and shifting positively.

This is NOT normal and could be very costly if the gears have been damaged. Maybe it's just linkage adjustment, but it sounds more troublesome than a random missed lever placement.

Good luck,
Ray Hull
