added equal 21 hence 21 is my unlock code.It appears this is how each individual car is unlocked so 21 may not work on your car.Add your last 5 digits and try again.

[/quote]Mine add up to 34. So, I dialed to 19 lock on, and started punching to 34 -- nothing so I went on up the scale and started over. Came back and 19.-- lock off was there (repeatable). If I didn't punch anything, it just sat there and went to 19.00. If I punched 19.--, it went to lock on with the codes below again and recycle. Never could get the scrolling zeroes. Did manage to get some screwy set of numbers and some would scroll, but nothing that I could get that would lock on anything like 1040. The screwy numbers were in the 800s and would advance one number per punch until they jumped higher.
Maybe another day. Thanks again for the hints.

I like to rev match alot whenever i drive....does this hurt fuel consumption alot??? i seem to get only 19mpg from my 545....is that normal??

Mileage depends on driving style and habits. It takes fuel to run the engine, so if the engine is idling or revving, fuel is being used. Downshifting uses more fuel, but hardly a major player in your 19.0 average. My current OBC average since the last refueling is 18.6. OBC dropped from 17.2 to 16.2 yesterday while idling during an hour long creeping traffic delay caused by an overturned garbage truck.

I have read this topic which has been going on for a while. I have refrained from participating because I was in denial.
I get 14.5 mpg with a avg. seed of 21mph. I do mostly city driving. Now I am starting to think I may have to go to the dealer as I may have a serious problem. I can't even imagine getting 18 mpg. And NO I don't drive with a lead foot. Just normal driving not even using the cars power potential.
2005 545i delivered Oct 2004.
I get 14.5 mpg with a avg. seed of 21mph. I do mostly city driving. Now I am starting to think I may have to go to the dealer as I may have a serious problem. I can't even imagine getting 18 mpg. And NO I don't drive with a lead foot. Just normal driving not even using the cars power potential.

hahahahah yeah.....im just bewildered how people get such good gas mileage...i drive conservatively and my commute consists mostly of highways but....i still cant get 20mpg....

After a few fillups with the lower tire pressure, I can say that -not- running the highest load pressures will result in a decrease in fuel economy of up to 5 MPG. I switched mine from 44/36 to 35/29 and I went from about 27MPG to barely over 22MPG. Same driving and routes. I've waited to see it trend over about 3 fillups before reporting. Oh, and with the lower pressures, the computer seems to be spot on with my hand calculations.
