545 gas mileage
I just logged 24 mpg on a trip to Indiannapolis. What I'm seeing is the faster the average speed, the higher the gas mileage. I averaged 66 mph on the trip. Sounds like the car is optimized to give best gas mileage at autobahn speeds!

YA seriously... when I average 80+ I get better MPG than when I do 70s...
Guys, more complete information on accessing the instrument cluster/OBC test menu can be found at http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=53634
Particularly note that you must compute the sum of the last 5 digits of you VIN number to determine the number of button presses required to unlock. I've used this procedure before successfully about 6 months ago to adjust the MPG-accuracy.

yeah I get the best mileage while traveling at 80mph.....26-7 mpg.
The worst was when I was going crazy.....btu it was fun though. I reset the readings and went full blast from the gas station....the road was empty and I went 155 mh and the readings showed 5.5mpg....lol.....after about 30 miles....a quarter tank's gone....crazy eh....

Jeffs, one has to envy anyone who can find such a place to drive that hard that long.
If anyone is interested in some pretty realistic calculations for driving in the US, city to city, AAA has a neat fuel cost calculator. I tried it on the 545 and it appears to be right on for my driving style.
