sorry if my first 2 posts contain little info, just familiarizing myself with posting.
have been into the secret menu thru the odometer reset button and managed to
fine tune code 20 which controls gas mileage calculations.factory setting is 1000,
I reset code to 1041.gas mileage figures are now very accurate.on recent trip
about 70% highway 30 % rural 2 lane mileage was 27.33 mpg.usually between
19 & 22 mpg in local driving

How do you access? Could you post in detail what you actually changed?

This sounds like the secret codes to those old Nintendo games. Where did you learn this? Is it in WebTIS?

It just changes a multiplier factor, ideally to one that's more accurate.

I hope its just that and not the fuel and air mixture ratio.

That's just insane..

I'm getting an average of 19 MP/G (US) which equals to 8 KM/L...

I'm actually very happy with the gas consumption of my 545.

dealer let me observe the technician while he was in this menu. I just memorized
what he did and wrote it down.my indicated mileage before setting was approx.
4.5% optimistic.after fooling around with the numbers in code 20 I noticed that going down with the number made error worse, going up improved it.also if calculate the change I made(was 1000 now 1041) the error works out to about
4%.it does not change any engine operating parameters the car still runs great.
I don't know how some of you guys get 12 to 18 mpg from a 545,worst case for
me was about 17.5 mpg when i was really aggressive.the 27.33 mpg was mostly
in cruise control at indicated 72 mph(actual 70).I also noticed my odometer now is approx. .9% pessimistic, don,t know if setting code 20 changed this or if it was always this way.I will say it takes some patience to access this menu and make
changes . if you scew up any of the steps you must turn key off and start over.
