If I do a rolling start up to about 5-10 mph and then push the accelerator down as far as it will go, 1 time out of 10?the car accelerates (quickly), rpms pass the redline?it then hesitates as it bounces off the rev limiter?it regains its composure and continues to accelerate like a bat out of hell. Not a real pleasant experience but this all takes place in matter of just a couple seconds?anyone else experience the same

It may be that just before change point electronics limit slipping of wheels. I have noticed this some automatics I have tesdted.
I tried 535D and that made exactly that. Pedal down, slipping, electronics limit it, acceleration stops, revs come up slowly, second gear and either it gets grip or same thing starts again.
Feels stupid, but there is button to prevent electronics to work.

i think i am correct in saying that the rev limit depends on engine temp i.e. was the car up to running temp when you had this or was it cold

Ithink hes talking about traction control. The car automatically stops itself from acceleration when its loses traction try, pressing the DSC? button on the dash. If that doesnt help pres and hold it for a few seconds untill its all deactivated
