Well you know the obvious answer on this forum is going to be going with the E60...I have a 2008 535i that I ordered and just came in last week...it is an amazing vehicle. But it really depends on your intended usage, your needs and your budget...what is the price difference between the two cars you have spec'd out?
Keep in mind the E60 Twin turbo now has several chip/piggyback packages available so you can increase hp/response like with the E90. I would think the E90 is always going to be more towards the sporty end of the scale while the E60 is going to be more sport luxury.....

I would really like to have the power shade, but there aren't any vehicles out there with this build and I don't want to wait to order it.

Hey, Guys!
I just wanted to give everyone an update. I picked up my 535i last Friday and have been enjoying it for over a week now. I guess that makes me a real E60 forum member. I will add the obligatory pictures within the next few days. Thanks for all the help on making the decision.

Has anyone had the opportunity to really 'drive' the two vehicles and could give me details on the difference?

The E60 is absolutely a better car, no doubts .
But let's talk about the deer: who ate it at the end ?

I initially intended to buy a E91 and eventually ordered a E60. I was so disappointed with the E90 that I would not have taken any BMW if the E60 would have been too expensive.
reasons;
-tech factor (E60 has much more innovative technology)
-space (I expected the E90 to be small but was still disappointed)
-looks (E60 looks classy to me, E90 very normal or even dull)
-weight is almost the same
-price delta is only approx 10% here
-interiour of the E60 is much better

I did wrost: the dealer offered me a 335xi fully loaded and i went with a 528i almost fully loaded. About same lease price. That shows my passion for the 5 series.
