Retired 2006 525i
I know I've asked this question before; but now with more people lucky enough to drive the 535i. what are your impressions.
How does it compare with the 525 and 530 (leaving aside the increased horses)?

We haven't 535i, but today I have driven the M5 Touring (not bad, but I don't like touring)

When did the 535i launch, not heard of it?
We still have the 540i ,which approximately 2 people have purchased since launch.

From the title of this thread I was hoping you were going to provide some impressions. I'm very interested in driving this car myself, seems like it could be a great combo between the engine and the car. I figured it would be the hot topic on this forum, like the 335 has been for the 3 (though in the 5's case an even more powerful engine has been offered for years). Wonder how it compares to the 550.
Apparently not many out there so far, though. I went by my local dealer, and saw only 528s.

US don't have the fine N53 engines (the 2.5 litre 523i just won the best engine
is the 2.0-2.5 class), nor the three litre 525i and 530i.

Will come to EU as well, as soon as BMW gets their N54 enige factory in shape.

I say "they" even though I'm American because I've argued in vain for years that a less powerful engine can actually be more fun to drive if it's a well-done engine, because you'll have more opportunity to experience its sweet spot in typical driving.

No N54 535i for EU - no N53 530i for US.
