I drove a 535xi yesterday. The interior is nicer and the suspension seems tighter. The engine is the real difference though feels as strong as my current 545i.

So did you consider a 550i or was the 535i a much better deal?

The 535i was only about a $150 less per month on a lease than the 550i. The main reason I was turned off by the 550i was the 19" wheels/tires, you can't get all-weather tires easily which I need here in NY and I have cracked or bent 3 rims and had bubbles on a few tires already on my 545 which only has 18" rims. The 19" is going to be worse. Also still not sure I like the sport bodywork, it looks out of proportion. I do like the way the M5 looks which I assume has the same bodywork?

Also I suppose the 535i has a better MPG?

If DSG had still been available, would you have gotten it again?
It does seem likely they'll sell far fewer 550s with the 535 available, though in your case it sounds like the tires rather than the cost were the reason.

I drove a 535 yesterday. It is a beautiful and very complete car. The engine is excellent more than adequate for anyones needs. What impressed me the most was the comfort level with RunFlats. Same 18" wheels as my 545 and Dunlops.

I would have gotten SMG again had it been available.
