BTW these are usually measurements taking between brim to brim fills. I dont trust the OBC.
Strangely enough, my own brim to brim calculations over the life of the car so far are pretty much the same as the OBC!

wow - that is a very high consumption... but then again, such an average requires you to partially do 100-110 at times...

I get 27-28 mpg on a mix of daily 80% city 20% motorway ( total travelling 24 miles). Put my foot down harder and it comes down to 24mpg

Cruise control at 70mph and I can squeeze out 38mpg.
OK so today another 200Km, still 28mpg ~ 10l/100Km. 80% city, 20% 1st class roads. The heating and massage eats a lot.

25 - 27mpg (UK) urban and mid 30s on motorways, and somewhere in between on the rural twisty bits. An unexpected bonus is that a remap slightly improved urban consumption. No difference to open road consumption though. At around the urban 30mph the engine usually doesn't want to use any gear higher than third. Lower gear = higher consumption.

For a big car with that much power and an auto box the consumption is amazing! I don't know about anyone else. but I didn't get mine with economy motoring in mind

how much Kms do you have rsyed?
20k miles...

i am running 19" summer and winter, and my car is loaded. have heard that things like panaroma moon roof adds another 40 kg of weight and things like that...

so the bottom line here is: the LCI consumes less diesel than the pre-lci models - something i guess we were expecting.

pre-lci is getting us something like 25-27mpg in the city to about 33-35 motorway driving. that is something like 12l in the city and 8,25l on the motorway. obviously they are great numbers for a huge car with so much power BUT
1) these numbers are way off from what bmw quoted us
2) the tank is proportionally too small - i am fed up of buying 60l-65l of gas every 530km..

I think the motorway numbers are good but the city numbers are just relatively terrible. i guess, the two things to blame on is the automatic (that is totally "stressed" at low speeds) and the particulate filter (that jams up too quickly in the city and then causes the higher ocnsumption)...

This does seem bad. I get around 500 miles (around 800km) from one tank of diesel, mostly "city miles" or UK motorways which are often stop - start. But I accelerate hard, all the time. I expect I could get 600 miles if I really tried. I don't think the LCI is meant to be _that_ much better is it??

I get around 30mpg, mainly motorway (just under ton) I had the same journey most days of around 50 miles.

The LCI I had last week was a 530d but only coped with 28mpg( it had only done 1200m)

My new 535d which I pick up next week will be the acid test as I only use my car for work so once run it I will let you know.

That must be the pre-LCI - LCI difference. It is huge! I get the same as rsyed. I have had both turbos changed .. can this be the cause? Also my car is a bit heavier with comfort seats.. I think.
