Hi guys!
I had to replace 1 heater from cylinder no.4. When they took off intake manifold to reach the heater there was some oil in the manifold. Mechanic told me that oil in the manifold is not normal, that my turbos are not in a good condition and that I need to do something about that, meaning to change them.
When I asked another mechanic for the advice, he told me that oil in this pipe is normal and that I don't need to worry about that.
Now I'm not sure who is right? Car has 120 000 km, It's not losing engine oil, no errors, runs great and the intake manifold has never been taken off before. Since this is very expensive repair I need your opinion, please...
Thanks

It is normal with turbo to get some oil in the intake manifold, too much of it will eventually coat your intercooler and can affect performance and cooling. If it bothers you get an Oil catch can (OCC).

I've decided to take out intake manifold again after 1000km after it had been cleaned from oil. I just want to know how much is inside now. I will remove the swirl flaps, install blanks and new oil breather. Do u know what quantity of oil inside intake manifold is normal and what is too much for this twin turbo engine?
Thanks
Thanks
Difficult to say what is too much, because it is just oily soot inside the manifold. The layer can be few millimeters thick. You should clear the EGR valve as well. Don't get frightened about all that black s*it, it will be a messy job.
The best method to clean the manifold is to let it lay in a strong solvent over the night.
