Hmm.. I paid 99.9p per litre today for BP Ultimate Diesel in Crewe.
Thats about as close to a-pound-a-pop as you're going to get.
Ho Hum, it will be well past a quid by this time next month...

I started this topic back in April just after I got the car. I was surprised to see it back on the first page.

Derv's worth ?2 a litre for the joy it brings

What effect do the different diesel fuels have on the car ? I saw at Tesco they are selling the bio-diesel. And how much better is the BP ultimate ? Very noticable ?

What we have at least here in Benelux is an optimal low sulfur diesel which contribute less to the engine oxydation. I don't see that more in the south like in France or Italy. Maybe these different diesels you have are taking the same criteria in consideration and one contain less sulfur (bio because it polute less the environment...)...

Apart from this comment, I don't need to pass speed limits to get pleasure with the 535d. Simply make acceleration in extreme Sport from 0 to 60kmph is already awesome! I forget about the noise it makes by simply looking at the average fuel consumption the car has : 7.9lp hectokm.

Nice day.

Bio Diesel contains 5% of rapeseed oil and hence the bio bit............I have heard that this can cause problems with BMW's. So I only use Shell, Esso or BP.
