Well i think he is using Sport mode or the Steptronic.
Interesting that the B5 isn't smoking the inside tyre, even out of the slow corners. Either (a) this one has the new LSD, (b) the driver isn't pushing that hard or ( c) the driver has an exceptional feel for the limits of traction.

And the B5 is probably running in Switchtronic mode.

My Ride: 535d Sport, carbon black, media pack, visibility pack, grey leather, heated seats, sun protection glass, voice control, Eibach ProKit, 19" 166 style wheels, e-maps ECU remap to 325hp and 640NM, top speed limiter removed
And if it's been Steve G. then any much higher powered car will get a run for it's money, if the driver is an occasional ring visitor.
I have heard first hand, that Steve is more than fast and excellent around the Ring. Saying that, he seems to be over there every few weeks.

Nice link, thanks for sharing!
The whistling sound from the tyres is familiar.
It's easy to know then the car is at max curvespeed.
At least with my Dunlop RF's this seems to work so.
The E60 is simply so nicely balanced.
PS. Do not laugh guys, a 525i can be pretty fast in curves

the point isnt to burn rubber quite the opposite, keep the rubber on the ground as much as possible while being as fast as possible....the BIG differnce does come in straight after the corner, where any e60 with a bigger engine will exist the corner and accelerate much faster than the 2.5l engine... so over a distance the bigger engine will be faster but in a corner there isnt that much...main differnce in a corner is the suspension and the driver skill...

Oh, absolutely - I could hustle my old 530iSE (with sports suspension) down a twisty road at least as fast as I can the B5.
