There's a chiptuning for the 545 that increases the HP from 333 to 358 and the torque from 450 to 495 Nm. (The new Emmy has 520 Nm as standard, AFAIK).

+7.5%/+10% - not bad, but turbo engines respond much better
Iceman, here is another, I think different from the earlier source I believe you are referring to: http://www.hs-elektronik.com/datenblatt-e/...33ps-450nm.html
German vendor and slightly different numbers. Also more expensive at 1200+ Euros verses the $1000 I was quoted by Wetterauer Engineering. Being now that I have seen two working the 4.4L in the 5, 6, and 7 series how far behind are the more familiar tuners?
Can a ECU be purchased outright in the US? I ask as both of the two chiptuners have required removal, transport, reprogramming and return. The other issue is testing before and after. Most of these vendors are not close at hand (at least not in Florida) so I imagine a reputable speed shop needs to be found for some before and after dyno testing.

Surely this car, with a tuning box, has to be the best car in the world. I just completed a round trip of 800 miles, with an OBC average speed of 73.5mph, returned 39.2mpg!!!!!!!?
Mostly motorway driving, but still!!! I tried desperately to get it over the 40 mark but couldn't manage it?
Also setup my camcorder on a headrest mount in the car to produce this vid here - it was cold and a little greasy, so that's my excuse for the 5.92 0 to 60 time!?

Nice vid SG535d - however on the grounds on mental sanity this sort of posting should not be allowed !
I have only just convinced myself that I am more than happy with the performance of my 530d and I would NOT chip it or buy the 535d that I desperately want (although wont admit it)
Now I'll have to either go into therapy or dig deep into my dusty pockets!
My only hope of salvation is that I buy a 535d with exactly the same spec as my current car then swap the private plates over. All I would have to do is tell the wife that I had washed the car and made it look all new and shiney - I'm sure she wouldn't notice
Just a small matter of a small hole in the bank account to cover up
