Surely this car, with a tuning box, has to be the best car in the world. I just completed a round trip of 800 miles, with an OBC average speed of 73.5mph, returned 39.2mpg!!!!!!!

Mostly motorway driving, but still!!! I tried desperately to get it over the 40 mark but couldn't manage it

Also setup my camcorder on a headrest mount in the car to produce this vid here - it was cold and a little greasy, so that's my excuse for the 5.92 0 to 60 time!

That's impressive! Noticeable difference to mine
You mentioned tuning somewhere, but what did you donate your car to go like this?

That video is amazing! Looks so smooth

My wait for a 535d is not going to last much longer! Which tuning box are you using?

Man, I would definitely trade my .3 or .4 advantage for that kind of mileage! Wonder what you could wring out of it performance-wise and mileage-wise with a manual trans?

There is no manual trans for the 535d. And from what I've read a standard 535d actually is faster than a 545i 0-60 and around Hochenheim ring... SG535d's 535d is tuned so it should for sure be faster than a 545...

The manual would be turned to a mass of wobbling jelly with all that torque Although Skaffa is running almost 700Nm thru' his!

It's a device that changes the ECU settings to improve performance. In theory it could be done for a petrol but the gains would not be worth it... Turbo Diesels gain 20-25%
