My Ride: 535d Sport in Carbon Black / high gloss shadow line and beige leather / dark poplar with professional nav, bluetooth phone prep, CD changer, bi-xenon adaptive headlamps, servotronic steering, folding mirrors, heated comfort seats, TV, extended voice control and Logic 7 hifi.
Took my 535d to Santa Pod today. Best 1/4 mile time was 14.174s
Does anyone have any *verified* 1/4 mile times for other E60s - G-Timer times do not count in my opinion - far too much margin for error in setting up the variables, not mounting the thing dead level etc :-)
I'll be going back post re-map for some 13 second action :-)

14.174s is that quick? Whats the 1/4 mile for a 530d? How does that compare to say a Porshe Boxter etc.
Intrigued

Merv,
It's quicker than I was expecting!
According to a bit of web searching a '97 Boxster (I'm guessing not an S) can run a 14.5 and an '01 Boxster S 14.0.

A bit sad I know but I looked through the performance figure sections of a few car mags just to see whats what with 535d the Boxter being one of them. Going to be quite a shock when a 4 door family car goes pissing past a two door sports car with all the kids and the dog in the back
You've obviously run yours in now! Can you tell me what its like say in third gear, floored round to 5,000rpm, bearing mind I've only been to 3,500rpm and not floored it. Is there more to come? In my 530d I remember the performance was sensitive to how far you press the pedal! I'm soooo impressed already

Oh yes, more to come after 3.5K.
And wouldn't it be odd if the performance wasn't sensitive to how far you pushed the pedal.... otherwise you'd either be at full throttle all the time!

Don't know that exactly because you'll notice that there's barely enough time to be watching that in third gear.
