Yeah daft statement I suppose!

What I meant by pedal sensitive was I've had petrol cars in the past and run them in properly but afterwards they haven't been that much faster half throttle to full, yet with the diesels the throttle position is much more sensitive.

If you get my drift!

Clive - I've got a Gtech Pro RR and it claims an accuracy of + or - 0.01 seconds. It doesn't require any variables setup, or to be mounted dead level like the old device did. I think it's quite accurate - and judging by searches on the internet, there are quite a few others users think the same too.

Until I get down to Santa Pod to test the RR, I stand by my (chipped) 535d times of 0 to 60 time in 5.511s and 1/4 mile of 13.956s @ 102.60mph. However it was cold, winter tyres on, so I know I can do better.

 

That does sound like an improvement on the devices I've seen used - I'll take a look. Doubly so as...

...look like entirely feasible times for a chipped 535d to me :-) I certainly hope to be able to shave more than 0.2 seconds off my time once chipped - and I agree, I suspect you can do better!

PLEASE let me know when you're coming down to the Pod - would be great to meet up and we'd put on quite a show - I had quite a few surprised people come and talk to me yesterday :-)

Quick question - just did a quick search on the web and there is a discussion about setting the pitch factor correctly. Are there or are there not varaibles to adjust on this unit? Confused, but interested :-) (I'm not saying it's not pretty accurate by the way - just that perhaps to get it as good as it can be a little experimentation on the strip might be required, especially if there are variables to set you haven't found yet!).

I believe they are talking about the older version. That you had to tip up or down to ensure it was completely level before starting. Somehow, this new one works without any calibration (I tell a lie, whenever you move the device i.e. out of its mount, you should start a dummy run just up to 30mph or so, to calibrate it. Once that 1st run is done, that's all the variables you need to set. If you want it to calculate bhp at the wheels etc then you need to input the vehicle weight, but for 1/4 mile times the dummy run is the only calibration required.

 

Just found the manual on-line - does look very easy to set up. Did you order direct from the US?
