I do believe the n54 engine was introduced in '08 models, perhaps thats why there is some confusion...

the hpfp has been reported to happen to any n54 engine, regardless of year, however it's been reported that the majority of hpfp failures are in 08 models. However '09 and '10 models are not immune to hpfp failure as cases have been reported on e90posts...

I exchanged emails with the attorney who filed the Class Action Federal suit against BMW over the HPFP. The "class" has not yet been certified. Counsel asked me if I would be willing to contribute information about my HPFP. Interesting as I know there are others, who have posted here, who would have a lot more to say.

My 08 535XI has over 53,000 miles on it now, original HPFP. Still thrills me to put the pedal down.
Only warranty work ever done was for a cracked leaking valve cover.

Goodby BMW warranty, but at least the pump is still in warranty should it ever fail.

you should perhaps start a thread asking for input/names...I remember reading a similar class action suit being filed out of so cal, haven't much of it...

but between this forum and e90posts (and even 1addicts)....the number of reported incidents is definitely worth putting something in writing...

I've had one trip to the dealer RE: possible hpfp failure...ended up replacing my injectors, no problems yet for the past 3 months......

i know of at 2 local members to me that ended up lemoning their 535i's after repeated attempts to fix the hpfp...
