I also have the stock 17 inch wheels and OEM Conti's, which to me is a great tire on wet or dry pavement. I never have a floating feeling.

Very very stable for me..... when I had the stock 17's, I constantly did 130mph runs, never once did I feel I was gonna lose traction.

I live in KS where we have some of the strongest winds becasue there is nothing here to stop it and my xi has not missed a beat when doing 90mph with stocks or with my 20's. no floaty here. It may be your tires. My stock tires are not RFT.

Dude, I know what you're saying. My car starts to get a bit loose at 75-85 mph. I don't mean to say unstable but there's a definite change in the way the car handles. I can only attribute it to the height of the vehicle and the lack of a sports suspension.

OK, I adjusted tire pressure (rears were overinflated) and since I don't drive with fat people, I dropped pressure on front wheels to 31 (manual says 32) and rears to 32 (manual says 34). Ride is better now, but there was no rain or wind to check high speed performance. I think I will go ahead and replace tires.

As I said - I own taller car that is more stable. I am kind of disappointed with this since it rains quite some in Pacific NW and primary reason I bought xi was to have car that is stable in inclement weather.

Interesting - your sig sayd you have 20" on xi. Do you change to smaller rims in winter?

Replaced Dunlops RFTs with Bridgestone Potenza 960AS. OMG, it is a different car!
