I'm seriosly leaning toward '06 530xi and compiled the list of options I'd like to have. But I need your opinion to see if some of them don't make much sense to have or I missed other few that could be a great addition. I understand it's a matter of personal taste but your wisdom does matter. What you do guys think of ?:
530xi, Auto, Auburn leather
1. 18' Wheels (BWM doesn't recommend these wheels for awd but they look much better than std. 17'. Anyone has experience with 18' on xi?)
2. #456, comfort seats
3. #465, split-fold rear seats
4. #496 heated rear seats (i'd be carrying people in the back frequently)
5. #416, power rear sunshade
6. #508, front/rear parktronic
7. #609, Nav. system
8. STDRD, Std. Radio
9. ZCW, Cold Weather
10. ZPP, Premium
The MSRP is $58705 and Invoice is $53785 for this combo and the dealer says xi's are flying off the lot, so don't know how much discount I can have.

My Ride: 2006 530xi ED 7/1/2005. Silver Grey, Black Leather, Premium Package, Cold Weather, Sport, Logic 7, 18'' style 123 rims.
IMHO I think 18 inch wheels on the xi is a must. They simple look awesome and do minimize the slight lift that the xi suspension brings with it. You will certainly need snow tires to get through the winter months, but that just saves your performance tires for a better driving season anyway.

Every single dealer says that. I'd recommend you take a look of the pricing discussion at Edmunds.com. Then you know... ...

How about comfort access?
You have to pay $1300 to get the 18 inch wheels and they come with run flats. As an alternative, get the standard wheels (and no sport package which on the xi is only the shadow line trim) and then get a discount from your dealer on the style 124 18 inch wheels and purchase non RF all seasons from the tirerack.

I have just purchased a 525 xi. Loaded it was 51,590 MSRP paid 49,790 for it. So you should be able to get at least 1,800 off. I will be getting the car sometime next week. I hope.

If there is a sport package on the xi, I would get it-- a must for any BMW. Active roll stabalization is awesome.

I'm using my 17" with stock tires until December and then will use them as "winter wheels" with dedicated snows. I picked up set of 18" style 124 as take offs from a local BMWNA member and will load them with non-run flats as my summer tires. My dealer will stow my winter wheels if I purchase the snow tires from him so that may be a no-brainer unless the prices is totally out of bounds. No muss, no fuss is a hard thing to argue with : )
My .02 cents.
