I have the Micro Road Pilot, I like it cause you can set the display to orange that matches the BMW interior.

How much and does it pick up the mobile cameras that are the biggest danger
It will warn you of where they usually sit, but you need to start looking at jammers, I mean garage door openers, to stop them.
Also I don't bother with the laser add on, if it bleeps it is too late anyway.

Is there a speed camera detector that is worth getting? I have already done the re-map and need help
I have an escort solo S2 wireless, it seems to do the job - although the mobile vans use LASER, so if it goes off you're likely to be already caught. I seem to have picked up scatter from other vehicles however, so sometimes it will give a decent warning for LASER.
It usually warns about GATSO cameras 5-10 seconds before you pass them, which is ok I suppose. It won't pick up digital GATSO cameras though (if these are in operation in the uk yet).

My Ride: 2006 535d MSport ; Retired at 110,000 miles
October 2010: 2010 535d MSport; Space Grey/Black Dakota, Adaptive Xenons, High Beam assistant, Prof. Nav, Voice Control,SAT, Adaptive Drive, Powered boot, Comfort Access, Climate Comfort W/Screen, Surround View, Side/Rear Sunblinds, Comfort Seats, HUD, Active Cruise, TV, Prof Loudspeaker, Night Vision, Lane Change warning, 4-Zone A/C, split rear seats, Speed Limit Display
I use an Origin B2, works well for 'known' camera spots and can be fitted with a laser detector.
Unfortunately the detector goes off just as the van has got you, so its not of much use.
The only protection is to use a laser jammer ( the Origin and others integrate fully with the Lidatek LE-30 ) but the use in the UK may be illegal.
