Had 530d 218hp and currently have 535d. The 530d did feel fast (er) with its initial surge of torque, however, the 535d has the same grunt all across the rev range and therefore doesn't feel "here we go then nothing after". Compare the 0-100mph for the auto 530 and 535 19.4secs compared to 15 secs. Don't get me wrong the 530d is worth every penny but so is the 535d. Especially remapped with 334hp 0-100mph in 13.4.
sorry mate, but thats BS. look at autocar. They measured 16.5s 0-100mph

///ooops youre right, just rechecked its 15.0s

645ci 0-100mph they measured in 13.2s, so expect the 545i to do around 13.5s, still considerably faster

also the 645/545 have a quicker 30-70mph and 50-70mph sprints than the 535d

I would reccomend an ECU re-map (DMS or e-maps) as I had one last week and the stats are now about the same as a stock 535d (albeit without the twin turbo) - the extra urge and speed / torque from the standard 530d is impressive. Find it hard to drive slowly though
Hi 07530d!

Is this the e-maps remap? Did you find the service ok, etc, and will they remap the car for free if the dealer accidentally removes it? I think i *need* to remap my car now

cheers

Shi

very delicate questions mate the good ones of course does it (fyi if they update your SW you have to redo your remap, but that is easy as they keep it on a HDD and just kinda' download it again).

Hi Shi,

Yes I used e-maps and the service was excellent. Simon will come and do it at your place of work or home (charged me ?350 - depends on location).

Simon will re-maps for free but only if you go to him - would probably charge expenses to come out to you.

Best ?350 I've ever spent Book it now and it should be done in a couple of weeks

The extra urge is great, in fact too great - I am driving way too fast

Simon (e-maps) was reccomended to me by another forum member who has had years of trouble free service.

Dont let the heart rule the head. For UK roads the 530D is plenty fast enough and chipping it will only tempt you to go faster and let the traffic enforcement team burn through your twelve points fast and ultimately your wallet.

I have the Micro Road Pilot, I like it cause you can set the display to orange that matches the BMW interior.

Gizzie - is the Micro Road Pilot wireless or does it need to be wired in? I've seen one on ebay and I have noticed that comes with a laser detector which seems to be wireless
