I sure hope mine sounds solid and I sure do hate rattles and squeeks, I am just a little worried the amount of KM the engine has 83,000KM its a late 2004 by the way .. dont know how much of a difference that makes Also I can upgrade the software for it to play mp3's I am sure about that.
My 2004 has done 92000kms now and absolutely no rattles or squeeks anywhere!

cool , does it still go strong ?? actually how much is too much in KM i mean for you guys atleast..? Oh one more question if it does have run flats can I just change them to second gen run flats ? I heard there where issues with first gen e60 run flats. And does the e60 as standard bring tire pressure monitor??

Yes, the E60 does have the type pressure monitor as standard, although it doesn't monitor actual pressures ... I think it actually works by monitoring a difference in rotational speeds between the wheels ... i.e. if one tyre is at a lower pressure, the circumference for that tyre will be slightly less than the tyre opposite it and will trigger the warning. Although it sounds odd, I can vouch for the fact that it definitely works ... I once had a slow puncture and it triggered to warn me a couple of times.

When you give the car a good clean, you may find you get a few creaks ... if you do, it will be coming from the door seals. There are many threads on this board about this issue and some people recommend lubricating them, although there were a few discussions about replacement seals being available that could resolve it. However, as my car is out of warranty I haven't tried to get the seals replaced.

I just did a search for "creaks" in the top right-hand search box and it cam back with lots of results. One from near the top of the list is here, although you could do a search yourself (now you know to look for it) and read all about it.

Probably best to check for the issue (or for the yellow dots that the newer seals apparently have on them) before accepting the car and get them replaced if they haven't already been done.

The km's are no problem at all. It's even very little for a 4 year old car!

Mine has 170k km's and drives great. Don't worry about the squeeks or rattles (or the closing sound of the door). It still is one of the best in it's class!
You asked for the differences between an '04 and an '07 530d and those are the differences. That doesn't mean that the '04 is bad, but that the '07 is even better!!!

D'oh !
Forgot the door seals! They DO creak, but I think I solved the problem with a special seal treatment lube. It's sold by Shell and carries Shell's name.
It's like a deodorant stick and doesn't contain silicone. I put it on the door seals a month ago and absolute silence after that ! And if it starts again, I just swing the stick !

Well if thats all it takes to get rid of it then its ok I just got told that the car i was orignally going to buy might not be for sale since the owner is thinking about it but on another note the dealer told me they are getting the same car with 60,000KM and from 2005 with sunroof and some other extra but it will be more expensive around ?17,500. Anyways I am decided that what ever happens Iam get myself a BMW lolol. Also I think another difference between the newer model and 2004 is that the newer model comes with DSC+ while older models come with DSC

My 53 reg has a 136000 miles on the clock been remapped to 270 and pulls like train! The only rattles or squeaks i get is when i drive over potholes.

These cars imo opinion are simply the best!!!
