Hi,
Would you ever consider changing 530d to M5? I am in position to acquire M5 and I have doubts if it can be driven as everyday car or I would need a spare car? What about driving it in the winter?

My Ride: 2007 Mercedes CLS63 AMG
Designo Graphite with white leather interior
Keyless Go, Heated/Ventilated seats, Parktronic
I'm sure just about everyone in here would rather have an M5 even if it is their daily driver (horrible fuel economy, small tank, etc....)
You figure 90% of the people in the "modification forum" on this board try to emulate the M5's look in one way, shape or form by adding the M5 body kit, 166 wheels, M5 mirrors, door sills, steering wheel, gauge cluster, and other 'M' accessories (I'm included - 166 wheels )
I could live the crummy mileage.....the financial aspect is another thing though.
EDIT - As for driving it in the winter.....I don't see why you couldn't. Get some Blizzaks or Michelin Pilot Alpins and you should be good to go. I drive my e60 (non M5) in the winter. In fact, I use it as my winter car while I drive a Honda s2000 for the nicer months.

I have also some of them 166's wheels, M body kit, M suspension, M steering wheel. I went to the friend of mine who is a BMW dealer and immediately fallen in love with the car. I was just trying to get an hint here if my thinking is irational, due to the fact that I have a family and 2 small kids and I will definately not buy a second car for myself.
Actually, I was looking to buy a third car which would be just for me to drive in the city or when I travel alone. So instead of spending 50K euros on used M3 or Subaru Impreza WRX or Mitubishi EVO IX and keeping my 530d I am seriously thinking to get an M5.
I haven't touched finances since I am able to buy it and pay for gas and maintanance.
