My Ride: 545i Sport; sapphire black metallic; comfort; nav; sirius; split-folding rear; auto

Since the US 525 and 530 have the same hardward with different tuning, does that mean the 525 can be 'retuned' to match the performance of the 530 by a clever/experienced mechanic?

(I have the 545, so unlikely I will be seeking any re-tuning - especially since the 550i is different engine altogether)

the 530 and 330 engines have three-stage induction manifold. Intake on the 525 and 325 is single stage. Different hardware delivers different performance. Obviously, the computers have different programming too, but the bulk of the performance diff is going to be from the intake. I'd have thought that retuning would invalidate your drivetrain warranty.

First of all I would Never "Rebadge" my car, I would only "Debadge" it. I was just pointing out that 525i stands for 5 series 2.5 liter and now for MY06 this is not the case. I really like the clean look of no badges anyway. On my last Jetta I completely shaved the rear VW badge giving it that really clean look, but that's just me, to each their own.

Peace

I think if the two last numbers often is the cyl.vol they should folow that exactly, otherwise do as Audi and call it some other things.
