I have recently changed the oil on my '04 525d, all 8+litres of it! The sump plug, before I removed it, the plastic cover and what i could see of the sump was fairly well covered with oil although it was not marking the ground and most of the rest of the undertray is quite clean.

I cannot see oil from above and just wondered if there is anything on the engine that has been identified as prone to leaking? There was no visible loss of oil on the dip stick over about 3000 miles and now I have done a change I have not noticed a drop.

Any ideas?
