I know some E39 525 owners that love their cars. I had a chance to get behind the wheel and I enjoyed driving the 525 as well. The E60 can defiantly handle more horsepower, if you decide that is what is best for you.

The 525i i had i loved - it was just a different drive to my 525d. Give me any E60 or E61 and i'll be a very happy man

I'd be happier in an M5 of course though...

As I understand it, all the "sprint booster" does is tell the engine that you have your foot down more than you actually do. Consequently, when you already have your foot to the floor, it makes no difference - you really think you can "turn it up to 11"???

Surely you can save the money on a sprint booster just by putting your foot down more? is it not the same?

I suspect it would be borderline terrifying in my car...

Speed Booster sounds like the old quick tip-in calibration trick some manufacturers use to make the car seem more powerful and responsive.

Go test drive a 525i again, I think you will be pleasently surprised. Now, the 530i is going to be faster, but the question becomes is it worth the extra $3500 to $4000 for the extra 40 horsepower? I guess it is all a matter of perspective. In all honesty, it is my ego that drives me toward the 530i, because I really felt the 525i had great power. So, I guess I need to check my ego.

Remember the line from Al Pacino in "The Devil's Advocate", "Vanity; my favorite sin". I bet sales people love that sin.
Before I chime in, I have a 530i and may be bias. But the price difference between an 07 525 and 530 with similar equipment is only $3000 not accounting the difference in tire sizes. That would put the difference at $2500. That is hardly a lot of money for the extra HP. That is why I bought my 530 and the fact that you are getting enough HP and decent gas mileage to boot.

WOW!!!! Is that all?? Here in Singapore, the price difference between a 525 and a 530 is US$14.4k...... thereabouts....

If the difference is so marginal, get the 530.......
