My Ride: 2005 525 Silver Gray/Black, Step, Premium, Cold, Xeon, 18" wheels

This whole discussion is bunk. It is not a race car. My 525 is just fine. Put 18 wheels on it though, totally improves the handling.
Would I like more horsepower? Sure. Do I need to waste money on my car and pay for college and everything else I gotta pick up the tab for? No way.
I usually burn through cars quickly, 8-12 months, not my 525. I love it. The engine is so freaking smooth, 6 speed transmission, bluetooth phone, great sounding stereo, I love my 525.

how about if i was to put 19" wheels ...whould it fee like a slug off the line ?
Also, someone else mentioned going with 18" wheels, then I believe the gap between the cost of the 525i and 530i is narrowed quite a bit. Can someone verify this? If you put 18" wheels on a 525i, you have to buy new tires and wheels, correct? And, this will amount to roughly how much? Anyone know?

You're excused... numbers are numbers. Stock HP numbers from manufactures are compareable. Now does a camry or accord drive better than a E60? Does it feel better than an E60? Does it look better than a E60? Does it have remotely as many features as a E60? Does it have the prestige of a E60? Do I want any of those over a even a 520i not to mention a 523 or 525? Do I want to be seen in one over a E60? Absolutely NOT.
BUT when those un-informed people out there ask so how much HP does it have? you say 215. and they go. OH my Accord has more HP than that...
 BMWs Mercedes Audis for the price you pay should be at the 250 260hp mark. YES I know BMW inline 6 engines produce power better over all than those icky V6s.
Imagine trying to pass a accord on the freeway and you cant. Ya alright you can let him go ahead and thats that not a big deal. Of course not. But just not me... last time a V6 accord was driving slow in the fast lane and when I got the chance I got around him and he obviously didnt like it. No I didnt cut him off or anything I'm not that kind of a driver, whatever you want to think. But ya so he decided he wanted to go around me. I knew he floored his car I saw him catch up pretty quick on my right side I staied in 6th and stepped on it about 80% throttle but he was still gaining up to my rear door now so I downshifted to 5th not even 4th or 3rd and gave it 90% throttle and all of a sudden he looked like he stopped and went in reverse.![Laughing](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/laughing.gif)

I guess I should voice my opinion since I am miss525i
Great car! I wouldn't mind having more power...but for what it is, it sure has plenty power for driving in the US
Amigo, that's all we have to say about it, right?

I think you will love the 525i.
I still would like to know about the 18" wheels. Does anyone know if you put 18" wheels on a 2006 525i, in addition to replacing the stock wheels, you have to replace the tires as well, correct? And, how much would all this cost? Ball Park Figure is fine. ![Smile](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/smile.gif)

Hi, as the stock wheels are 17", you would have to replace the tires and the rims (ie. you would have to get another set). I just purchased a set of 18" rims and tires for my new 06 525 which has not yet been delivered yet. I'm just preparing....

On a side note, I've driven the 525 and I think it's got more than enough power for me not to mention saving me a good amount of $$. It's pretty peppy and I'm happy with it. I guess that's why I bought one...

I had a 2002 530i I thought had more than adequate power. I just got to drive a new 2006 525 for a loaner and it remined me of my 2002 530i as to power. Remember the 2006 525 has a more power than the 2005 525.
