I received the adaptive throttle info from a post by olli_535d who mentioned it worked on the E46, which also didn't have a start-stop button. So I would therefore assume that you would simply turn the key to the point where all the electrics are on but the engine is not. All other steps would be the same. Give it a go and let us know how you get on...

I was considering the 520dT but when I test drove it I was disturbed by the fact that nothing happened below 2000 rpm's and then the car would jump away. I finally decided to order the LCI 525dT. This car responds already at 1200 rpm's but the first gear is still quite jumpy and you'll want to get in to second gear as soon as possible. I have even tried to set off in second gear and it works but not if you want fast response as when you are entering a road with heavy traffic.
