My Ride: 520d msport (177), platinum grey, 19's, bluetooth. split rear seats
Hi, i've just bought a nearly new 520d m sport its the 177hp ED model, does anybody know why this doesn't come with the engine stop/start function when the car is stood, like the 1&3 series models with this engine.
Also does anybody have a problem with momentary loss of sound from the radio(which sounds bloody crap!), i've seen the topics on here about upgrading and have bought the th275 blaupunkt amp, leads & have the logic 7 tweeters on order which according to my local dealer are a different part number for the facelifted(LCI) model than the earlier cars, can anyone confirm this.
Another problem is that the car will not pair with blutooth phone with one of the key fobs and also the ideal gear display on the dash does not appear with this same fob. is this just a keyfob reprogram job? as all is okay with the other one.
Thanks for any replies on these Qu's

The E60 is not any more a development model.
Waiting for the F10.
Love mine, but why buy a manual?
The BT is available, if ordered.

My Ride: 520d LCI, old engine, manual, black dakota, platingrau II, standard (242?) rims.
If you have a post 09/2007 build (which you do, if you're sure about the 177bhp) , it should have the start/stop feature. I'm sure if you have a manual.

I have bluetooth and as i said it works with one key fob but not the other, although only the A's from the phone phonebook can be accessed for some reason (sony eric k950i). In reply to the manual box i like to drive a car and an autobox reduces driver involvment, maybe i'll get an auto in 30 or so years time when i retire and buy a volvo estate. Yes the car definately is the ED(177) model it tells you when to change gear has the chrome oval tailpipe, 136g co emissions etc but definately no start/stop can't find anything in idrive and no dissable button, i've driven 1 & 3 series's with it on and it aint on this one.

Same problem here. According to this the 520d doesn't have it as part of its ED package. But the mpg is still huge and they say stop start can account for 9% so it could be up past 60% if they have it.
