I think someone is trying to talk himself into the fact that he made the right decision...or did he?

JK! Enjoy the ride...just had the same decision to make, however the 550i Sport came out on top in my world...
Say it ain't so.... The M5 is gone???

Are you sure you don't write for a magazine? It sounds like something out of C/D or MT. I had the same decision to make and ended up going with the 5er. The 335 is still a very nice car, I hope you enjoy it.

Both are great cars but it seems perhaps a tad silly to take a depreciation hit on the 5er just to get the 3er.

That having been said, very well written!
Ugh, it was depreciating faster by the day, V8 cars are just not holding up in the current market. There might have been a bit of that "Get while the getting is good," motivation in me. I should have just stayed away from kbb.com, darn it.

I had a 325i before my 545i and loved it but it was so bloody small in the back seat as to make it suitable for children only. If I didn't need a back seat on occasion I'd get the 3 series. As it is, it's not even an option. It's the same size as a honda civic for goodnes sake. Anyways enjoy it, great car.

Especially as the cost of gasoline has come up here in the US, the price exacted in car payments and fuel became more incongruous with my engineer's notion of fitness for purpose.

So... to boil it down... car payments and gas prices.

The Funfer is the executive car...

The 3er is the executive assistant's car.

Sorry to be so harsh, but your posts are TL;DR

I agree my posts are overwrought. It's still fun to be an exec's assistant.

Where the heck have you guys been? The answer to this question was in about 20 threads over the last couple weeks...

Now, the question is...should I tell you the answer or let you guys figure it out for yourselves?

(I'll give you a hint: It's not this car: http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=60768)
