4 Days Left in Warranty
Referring to the maintenance, has anyone ever had any luck with talking to multiple BMW dealers to see if there is any room on the price? When I had my Durango, I was able to get a killer deal on the warranty (I know, not quite the same) by calling a bunch of Dodge dealers and ended up getting the best deal from one in Texas, even though I lived in Massachusetts...

Done that, but I'm not persuaded to move.
Ford and Chrysler offer 3 year exclusionary warranties for my car. The warranties cost somewhere around $2k, which really isn't all that bad. I just don't happen to believe I'm likely to incur that much in covered repairs.
Remember, most extended warranties have so many exclusions and carve-outs that few owners really collect on them. I've driven BMWs since the early 80s, and have only once had a major repair in the first six or seven years of ownership.

Given the fact that I have an 06 - 530i which has a well proven engine and xmission, I didnt bother to get any warranty and I believe that I would not need it.
For each his own, I am not sure how you drive, how much you drive, where you drive. Take into consideration everything
I say where you drive since people who live in a hilly area are more prone to failling transmissions.

I don't know exactly what they check, but there is a local indy shop around here, highly regarded, that has a standard 'end of warranty' checkup service. It cost about $150 for my wife's '06 530xi wagon, if I remember correctly. For piece of mind it was a good investment. Perhaps there's a similar shop in your area?

It's good suggestion and something I already acted upon -- about three weeks ago. My indy found nothing wrong.
