given the 335 driver wasnt launching it's best potential, he still started catching up nearing end of 3rd gear! amazing little car.

nice runs I can't really tell who won..looks like the 545 was slightly ahead on the successful runs.

thanks for sharing.

It was not a fair race. 545 has a manual tranny. I would like to auto vs. auto or manual vs. manual.

I would rather see the fastest of each kind--Step 545i vs whatever for the 335i. Actually, I am not even sure what trannys are available for the 335i. Anyone know?

Hey, Z. Hope all is well for you. I thought the 335i in the video was a manual too.

Aw man, the new guy one upped the Socal Launch crew. He's got his runs video taped! All right, the next Launch Meet will have to be video taped and uploaded to YouTube.

I'm glad that a 545 finally had the chance to go up against the 335 and pleasantly surprised how well the 545 fared.

The 335 is available in both auto and manual, with a very worthwhile $100 (or so) option to get paddle shifters on the step. There's been a few posts over on bimmerfest about which of the two is faster on the E92. As usual the manual guys seem to *think* theirs is faster, despite evidence to the contrary.....
