My friend has a 335i coupe in red. We tried to race but no open highways for us to do so. Anyways...having driven his car for quite some time we both agreed that is 335i "feels" faster than my 545i. Oh...and I forgot to mention he has the 6-spd too. BTW I hate the bloody clutch on that car....even more so than mine. It has alot of dead pedal travel and shifter is really rubbery. Power is nice on both cars. We tried an 80-130mph run couple days back and its exactly the same...I guess his lighter weight made up for the 30lb/ft of torque that I have on him.

It was not a fair race. 545 has a manual tranny. I would like to auto vs. auto or manual vs. manual.

having driven the 335 I must say it def does "feel" faster, but I'm not sure if this feeling is induced by the sheer sporty-ness of the 335, the sound it makes at high revs is marvelous. on paper I heard the 335 is supposed to do 5.1 0-60 so I dont know. It's my brothers car so I'm sure we'll go again soon, hopefully my clutch doesnt get smoked toying with this 3 series!

videos are a bit mucky ... but you can see that the 335i really has a lot of potential... with a simple chip, it would be bye-bye 545i

what im saying is that the forced induction engine is

1)lighter
2)easier to mod

than the heavy v8 found in the 545i

I wonder how the 545i and the MBZ clk550 match up both in the same class?
